Iridescent Regalia

Iridescent Regalia

Iridescent Regalia was created by Becky Thoroughgood (owner) and Samantha Sparks-Cropp for the World of Wearable Arts Competition.

This piece of wearable art was designed to capture the iridescent beauty of one of natures most flamboyant birds - the peacock. The piece was intended to capture the vibrant nature of the bird with the 880 odd peacock feathers in the tail and the intricate layering of feathers and sparkles in the mask. This stunning piece of art took about 150+ hours to create but unfortunately never made it to WOW2020 due to the event being canceled because of COVID-19.

Iridescent Regalia was shown at the Catwalk Arts in August 2021. The beautiful piece of art won Highly Commended in Open (2nd Place) and won The People's Choice Award!
